This Privacy Policy explains what information Homework Council (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your email address (handled via Supabase Auth) and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile fields Google returns.
- Payment information: processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we receive only limited metadata (e.g. last four digits, brand) needed to display and reconcile your purchases.
- Debate content: the questions you submit, the AI panelist and judge outputs, follow-ups, and final answers.
- Usage and billing data: timestamps, model selection, token counts, and credit costs of each debate.
- Optional referral linkages: if you arrive via a referral link or use a referral code, we associate your account with the referrer for credit purposes.
2. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process payments and maintain accurate wallet and usage history.
- To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and Terms violations.
- To debug, analyze, and improve product quality (e.g. refining judge behavior, model selection, and reliability).
- To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and material updates to our policies.
3. Third parties
We share information only with vendors who help us run the Service, under appropriate contractual safeguards:
- Supabase— authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe— payment processing.
- OpenRouter— routing your debate prompts to the underlying AI model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and others) that you select.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We retain debate logs so you can access your usage history and so we can audit billing. You may request deletion of your account and associated debate history by emailing info@hwcounsil.com. Some records (e.g. payment receipts) may be retained as required by law.
5. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing (under the GDPR, CCPA, and similar laws). To exercise any of these rights, email info@hwcounsil.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
6. Cookies
We use only essential cookies set by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
7. Security
Information you provide is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel and vendors with a need to know. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and/or in-product notice before they take effect.
