1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
3. Accounts
- You may maintain only one personal account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and notify us promptly of any unauthorized access at info@hwcounsil.com.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Engage in academic dishonesty, including submitting AI output as your own work in violation of your school’s honor code or applicable rules. Homework Council is a study tool; you are responsible for following your institution’s policies.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, our staff, or any third party.
- Develop, distribute, or transmit malware, exploits, or other harmful code.
- Attempt to circumvent, probe, or interfere with the Service’s security, billing, or rate-limiting systems.
- Use the Service to generate content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates privacy, or breaks applicable law.
5. Payment terms
- The Service uses a prepaid wallet. You purchase credits in top-up packs, and each debate deducts credits at the underlying model cost plus our margin.
- Credits are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
- Bonus or promotional credits awarded with larger packs, referrals, or campaigns are promotional in nature and may be revoked, adjusted, or expired in cases of fraud, abuse, or violation of these Terms.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card details on our servers.
- Pricing and bonus structures may change. Material changes will be disclosed in-product before they take effect.
6. AI output disclaimer
The Service relays answers from third-party AI models. AI output may be incomplete, outdated, biased, or simply wrong, including confidently wrong. Output is provided as-is without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and deciding how to use any AI output. Homework Council is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise).
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused the Service, or created risk for us or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service, except where prohibited by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and/or through an in-product notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
